Raid Rules

When we do start raiding, we have a very simple set standard for loot distribution. Loot distribution is guild-rank based using Master Looter rules as follows:

Any Bind on Equip items are free rolls for the whole raid.
Any Bind on Pickup items will be first offered to the highest ranking members.
If none of the highest ranking raiders NEED the item, then priority goes to the next highest rank, and so on.
If no one NEEDs the item, it becomes a free roll for the whole raid.

Note that the term NEED is in all-caps. This is because many people cannot distinguish a need from a want. If it is part of a set you are collecting, if it is an upgrade over a piece you currently have equipped, or if it is an item that will eventually be an upgrade for you, you NEED the item. If you already have one of said item, if your class/race cannot equip the item, or if you previously had and sold the item, you WANT the item. A NEED is always of priority over a WANT.

Do not attempt to cheat or trick the Loot Master of the raid. You may be asked to link your current equipment to prove that the item is an upgrade, and the Loot Master WILL be keeping a table of who gains what items, to be merged with our database available to all Champions.

The main incentive to attend raids, maintain good behavior, and follow guild rules is to be promoted within the guild, giving you a higher priority on looting, thus increasing your chance to gain said loot. Positive action (attending raids that you sign up for, on time, staying for the entirety of the raid, being gracious to someone who receives loot over you, being polite to Crimson Brethren in general, etc.) will earn you promotion points. Negative action (Not showing up to a raid you signed up for without prior notification of the absence, showing up late, leaving early, ranting at someone who receives loot over you, being rude in general, etc.) will lose you promotion points.

The threshold for promotion points to actually get you promoted is not public. This is to prevent people who are close to being promoted for attempting to work overtime to get the promotion. The Guild ranks are as follows:

Knight-Lord - This is Mauritius' rank as Guild Master, and is thus unobtainable unless he abdicates his position (not likely to happen)

Champion - This rank is the highest attainable in the guild. A Champion has proved to be exemplary in nearly all aspects, and are to be treated as equals to Knight-Lord Mauritius.

Master - The next-highest rank, with increased loot and guild bank privileges.

Knight - The next-highest rank, with increased loot and guild bank privileges.

Squire - The next-highest rank, with increased loot and guild bank privileges.

Adept - The next-highest rank, with increased loot and guild bank privileges.

Initiate - This is the starting rank within the guild.

Peasant - This is a punishment rank. Those who act contrary to the rules and/or spirit of the guild will be demoted. The only way to be demoted to Peasant is to either consistently misbehave to the point that your promotion points fall to the negatives, or to do something extremely unacceptable (to be determined by guild council, not arbitrarily on the whim of a single Champion). In the case of being demoted to Peasant through the latter means, you will remain a Peasant for 2 weeks, will be unable to gain promotion points, and will return at half of your accumulated promotion points, which may or may not result in an overall demotion of your guild rank. You will also not be able to withdraw from the guild bank. Those demoted to Peasant through the former means will gain promotion points at half the standard rate and will not be able to withdraw from the guild bank.

This system is still in the working stage, and any suggestions or comments on a betterment of the system may be posted on our guild forums.
